Fernwood Fuels are a long established UK distributor of solid fuel products selling to wholesale, domestic & retail customers.

Operating from our site in Watnall, Nottingham, we are a major supplier and distributor of solid fuel throughout the UK. We offer a wide range of well-known product brands & are dedicated to providing excellent customer care & service.

An opportunity has arisen for a Yard Foreman working at our stocking & distribution site at Watnall.  This is a permanent, full-time position.

The main purpose of this role is the day to day management of all depot operations, general site maintenance, including associated plant, loading & unloading, ensuring the safe receipt, storage & management of all depot stock including periodic product checks, rotation of stock & preparation of stock for despatch as required. To ensure the safe operation of the depot & the compliance by all staff and visitors to the site Health and Safety procedures.

The successful candidate will preferably have:

• Valid UK Driving Licence.
• Forklift truck experience.
• Loading shovel experience.
• Experience of basic mechanical plant.
• Experience of stock management.
• Experience of vehicle loading procedures.
• Good numeracy skills.
• Good customer facing & customer service skills.
• Good housekeeping awareness & attention to detail.
• Basic IT literacy & the ability to learn company systems.
• The ability to work well under pressure & be able to follow instructions.
• Previous experience in the solid fuel industry or working knowledge of solid fuel.
• Previous experience of stock management systems.
• Previous customer facing experience.
