Fernwood Fuels is a major supplier of solid fuels to coal merchants throughout the UK , offering a full range of fuels sourced from both British and overseas producers and manufacturers.

The company also supplies fuel to power generators, local authorities and the department of trade & industry, and has the expertise, contacts and requisite handling and storage facilities to market bio fuels to the UK power generators.

Customer sales and services are provided through a National network of sales representatives.

The company operates from its 17 acre site at Watnall, near Nottingham and the Group's 40 acre site in Hull . Site facilities include weighbridges, hoppers, storage bays, coal washing plant and modern covered pre-packing plant for the bagging of solid fuel and other bulk materials. Coal importing, screening and blending are carried out using the company's own plant and substantial storage facilities are available at both sites.

Fuel analysis is carried out on a regular basis to ensure quality control.

The company also offers bulk screening and handling services throughout the UK using its own men and mobile plant.

Fernwood Fuels has the expertise and contacts to deal with National Government and Local Authority contracts, having participated in a 3 year contract for the distribution of around 4 million bags per annum of concessionary coal to retired mineworkers on behalf of the government.
